In order to guide disaster risk reduction, the report identifies the need to upgrade hydrometeorological data management systems in Dominica, so that vital climate information is made readily available. Reliable data sets produced as a result are critical to planning and designing investments that are resilient to the impacts of disasters and climate change. In particular, accurate disaster data is important in helping to effectively integrate flood and landslide risk into urban development plans, infrastructure design standards and construction regulations.
