The City Demographic and Socioeconomic Scan delves into the historical and projected future trajectories of a city’s population and economy. Derived from Oxford Economics’ Global Cities Database, the analysis presents high-level conclusions on such socioeconomic characteristics as population growth rate and GDP per capita, while also focusing on the individual residents and households: How does their income and spending factor into the urban economy? To which employment sectors do the residents contribute their labor? And how does the economy change along with the people and market, both in the past and in the future? This analysis addresses these key questions to inform decision-making and investments for policymakers.
