Following devastating floods in May 2019 in Bamako, Mali which affected several parts of the capital city, the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection in Mali undertook a rapid damage assessment and a Disaster Recovery Framework (DRF) to inform recovery and reconstruction needs.
The rapid assessment was developed with several development partners including the EU, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the World Food Programme and the Food and Agriculture Organization, and covers several sectors, including housing, water and sanitation, transport, education, health, and DRR.
