
Understanding Risk (UR) Global Forum

May 10-14, 2027
UR Abu Dhabi has been moved to May 10-14, 2027
For the first time, UR will take place in the Middle East region in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This landmark forum will be co-hosted by the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) and the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi (ADCMC).
Other than rescheduling the dates, all event logistics remain the same. The Forum will take place at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi as planned. Registration and Call for Proposals remain open, with new deadlines for submissions.
Some key dates:
- New dates: May 10–14, 2027
- Deadline for submissions of session proposals: November 13, 2026
- Deadline for early bird registration: February 28, 2027

If you have already registered, your ticket remains valid. If you are not able to attend the Forum on the new dates, a refund will be available – for information and refunding, please contact us at ur_forum@understandrisk.org.
We will reach out to all those community members who have already submitted a session proposal for re-confirmation and instructions in case you would like to edit your proposal. New deadline for submissions and edits is November 13, 2026.
