‘Vei lomani’ is a Fijian expression meaning ‘the act of loving one another’, and it represents the importance Fijians place on supporting each other in good times and bad. Rupeni is a Fijian who lives his life in the spirit of ‘vei lomani’; having built 13 houses for his community in the aftermath of Cyclone Winston.
