Evidence shows that disasters have differential impacts on men and women. What are some of the challenges that can put women at a disadvantage in facing and managing disaster risks? How do women exercise agency in their roles within and outside their homes? How do they relate to the World Bank Group (WBG) Gender Strategy 2016-2023?

The Bank has a large portfolio of disaster risk management projects. Come join the Bank's Disaster Risk Management (DRM), Urban, and Social Specialists for a discussion to unpack some of the issues that women face in managing disaster risks, and ways to address them in Bank operations.

Participants will gain insights on the challenges that women face in managing disaster risks and ways to address these barriers.
