This round of the Resilience Dialogue series looked into translating the outcomes of the Agenda 2030 and the recent World Humanitarian Summit into actions to strengthen local resilience, promoting a better understanding of resilience in the context of forced displacement, and exploring a broader knowledge of lessons learnt from implementing resilience support.

This round of the Resilience Dialogue series took an in-depth look at the intersection of gender, disaster risk, and technology, with a focus on how women-led grassroots efforts in disaster risk management can illuminate a way forward for gender divisions in science, policy, and beyond.

Over 650 participants from 100 countries came together at the fourth UR forum to share best practices on assessing, understanding and communicating risk. The five days were filled with over 50 sessions, including training events, workshops, technical sessions and plenaries.

This event spotlighted the evidence base for disaster risk finance in developing countries, launching the findings of a three-year research project implemented by the Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance Program (DRFIP), a joint initiative of GFDRR and the World Bank Group’s Finance and Markets Global Practice.

The 17th meeting of the Consultative Group of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery was held on April 27-28, 2016.

The benefits of strong and effective building regulatory frameworks are elaborated in the World Bank-GFDRR report “Building Regulation for Resilience: Managing Risks for Safer Cities." In the seminar, findings and recommendations of the report were shared, prior to the official launch.

The half-day workshop featured expert panel sessions with case study presentations to explore policy experience, operational knowledge and state-of-art innovations in applying green infrastructure solutions for urban flood risk management.

Held on the sidelines of the Fragility Forum, this round of the Resilience Dialogue series explored challenges and opportunities at the nexus of disaster risk and conflict.
