The 9th Consultative Group (CG) meetings of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) hosted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the World Bank, and in close collaboration with Inter American Development Bank (IaDB) was held on October 4-7, 2010 in Washington, DC.

The “Understanding Risk: Innovation in Disaster Risk Assessment” conference explored best practices in a variety of topics in risk measurement and assessment, ranging from open source risk modeling to community based risk assessments.
