CRP presented its work on geospatial planning and the use of ESRI’s ArcGIS StoryMaps to create compelling interactive maps and charts that can help cities identify their urban disaster risks and become more resilient. 

The International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI 2021) is an interactive virtual conference which follows International Workshops on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (IWDRI) held in 2018 and 2019. ICDRI is the annual international conference of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) in partnership with member countries, organizations and institutions to strengthen the global discourse on disaster and climate resilient infrastructure.

Today, frequent and extreme disasters continue to threaten people around the world, with risks exacerbated with climate change.  The global COVID-19 pandemic further poses an unprecedented challenge in managing compound risks.  Commemorating the Great East Japan Earthquake (GEJE)'s 10th anniversary, we look back to understand the reconstruction efforts to build back better, re-examine lessons learned, reflect upon what GEJE has taught us on enhancing future resilience, and discuss how to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.  

Every year, the global open data community gathers for hundreds of local events for the annual Open Data Day, organized by Open Knowledge Foundation. Groups host hackathons, workshops, webinars and more to show the benefits of open data in their local community, and to encourage the adoption of open data policies in government, business and civil society. The next Open Data Day is Saturday, March 6th, 2021.

On Saturday, March 6, join the Labs and OpenDRI team of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) for an Open Data Day webinar on the value of open data for understanding disaster risk.

Exploring national legislative frameworks for public-private engagement in hydromet services.

The Fall 2020 Consultative Group (CG) meeting of GFDRR, chaired by the Government of India and the World Bank, will take place virtually through Webex on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
